Round Brilliant
The most basic of diamond shapes and the only shape not considered fancy, this shape is a rounded diamond in the shape of a circle. The Round Brilliant is the classic diamond shape and contains 58 facets including the culet. The Round Brilliant shape is the most expensive as it is usually possible to retain more carat size by cutting to fancy shapes than cut to a round.

Princess
A square cut diamond that has refractive properties almost the same as the Round Brilliant shape. The Princess is the second most popular shape. Marquise
The Marquise shape is long and slender. This shape, originally commissioned by Louis XIV of France, is wonderful for maximising the carat within the setting. The Marquise shape will accentuate the length of the fingers and works well on a person with longer, slender fingers.
